The Timothy Project

Overview

The Timothy Project is an innovative concept in collaborative ministry with the goal of developing generational leadership with an integral Biblical world and life view for the transformation of Nicaragua and other countries of Latin America. The Timothy Project combines the strengths of two well-established and successful Christian educational organizations already operating in Managua, Nicaragua. These organizations are Nicaragua Christian Academy and the Nehemiah Center for Transformational Development.

Nicaragua Christian Academy is an international English-speaking Christian school offering "academic excellence on a Christian foundation" to about 225 students in grades K-12 (70% Nicaraguan, 30% "ex-pat"). Founded in August 1991, NCA is only one of two schools in Central America accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

The Nehemiah Center is a Christian leadership development organization dedicated toward forming "Agents of Transformation" with an integral Biblical world and life view. The Nehemiah Center draws on the strengths on a number of different collaborating organizations: Christian Reformed World Missions, Christian Reformed World Relief Committee, Food for the Hungry International, Christian Schools International, Missionary Ventures, Worldwide Christian Schools, Partners for Christian Development, Medical Ambassadors International, and Focus on the Family. The Nehemiah Center trains pastors, Christian school directors and teachers, deacons and development workers, and businesspersons as agents of integral, Christ-centered transformation in their spheres of influence. The Nehemiah Center has facilitated the birth of a network of pastors for integral ministry to the family, an association of Nicaraguan Christian schools, and an association of Christian business people and professionals.

The Timothy Project is located on the southwest side of Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua and the center of its economic and political life. It is strategically located on the Pacific side of Nicaragua where 90% of the population lives.
